Mr. Zelpher "Odell" Hobbs, age 90, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. He was born on March 21, 1922 in Haralson County. He was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.B. and Dassie Agan Hobbs.
Mr. Hobbs was a precision automotive machinist and was employed by Greer Auto Supply Company for 35 years and then by Southern Auto Supply Company until his retirement in 1998 at the age of 78. He was an Army veteran of World War II having served as a sergeant.
Mr. Hobbs is survived by his loving wife, Mrs. Lillian Morgan Hobbs; daughters, Carol Hobbs Tillery and Amy Miller; son, Barry Hobbs; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and two nephews.
Mr. Hobbs is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Delmer Hobbs and grandchildren, Brent and Derek Clemons.
A graveside service for Mr. Hobbs will be conducted on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at twelve (noon) o'clock in the afternoon in the Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.
The family of Mr. Hobbs will receive family and friends on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from eleven o'clock in the morning until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will service as pallbearers; Craig Tillery, Barry Hobbs, Andy Davis, Eric Shaw, Jarrod Thornton, Jason Bentley and Jody Clemons. Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Hobbs' grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
