Mr. Willis Lloyd Pope, age 72, of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2008. He was born August 3, 1935 in Haralson County.
Lloyd will long be remembered by the many families that he touched as he assisted his wife in the provision of day care and by the compassion that he shared with all of the children that looked upon him as their "Pa".
He is preceded in death by parents, Howard Pope and Lois Shelnutt Pope; son, Kim Parker; and sisters, Betty Richett and Sharon Pope
Family members surviving are wife, Virginia Pope; daughters and son-in-laws, Karen & Gary Zimmerman, Kathy & Tim McKelvey, daughter, Lisa Pope; son and daughter-in-law, Keith & Wanda Parker; grandchildren, Zachary & Carmen Zimmerman, Kayla & Jason Glenn, Lacey McKelvey, Brittney McKelvey, Kacie Wright, Lexie Parker; sisters, Carol Holcomb, Janice Price, and brother, Norman Pope. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Willis Lloyd Pope will be conducted on Monday, February 18, at 11:00 in the morning in the chapel of Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Ken Kulp and Rev. John Giglio officiating. Interment will be in Northview Cemetery.
The men that are serving as pallbearers are Jason Glenn, Zachary Zimmerman, Van McKelvey, Calvin Maddox, Sr., Gary Zimmerman, Tim McKelvey, and Keith Parker.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, February 17, from 6:00 until 9:00 in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
