Mr. Ned Gainous, age 84 of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. He was born on September 9, 1930 in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the son of the late Wilburn Willis Gainous and Hattie Maudie Lawson Gainous.
Mr. Gainous was a United States Army Veteran and retired from Lockheed.
Mr. Gainous is survived by his wife, Katherine Jean Hooks Gainous; daughters and son-in-laws, Fredaleen Camp and Ronnie and Renee Mitchell and Keith; sister and brother-in-law, Penny Raburn and Jack; grandchildren, Amy Christian, Ryan Smallwood and Derek Smallwood and great children, Levi Christian, Colby Christian, Corbey Smallwood and Kayla Smallwood.
Mr. Gainous is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Feriby Waters and brother, Braxton Gainous.
A graveside service for Mr. Gainous will be conducted on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Douglasville, Georgia with Rev. Alan Fuller officiating. (Address to the cemetery: 3721 Bankhead Highway, Douglasville, GA 30135)
The family of Mr. Gainous will receive family and friends on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Levi Christian, Colby Christian, Ryan Smallwood, Derek Smallwood, Corbey Smallwood and Ken Raburn.
Flowers are not being accepted; however, memorial donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
