Obituary

Mr. William Jefferson "Wild Bill" Preston, age 87, of Cedartown passed away Saturday, August 9, 2008. He was born on October 28, 1920 in Polk County, GA.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Walter A. Preston and Viola Jane Hughes Preston; Wife, Mrs. Arizona Elizabeth Leach Preston; Son & Daughter-in-law, Joe Harold Preston & Bobbie Faye Preston; Sister, Lilly Mae Royal; Brother, John Preston; Grandson, Eddie Ledbetter; and Great Grand Daughter, Stephanie Ledbetter.

He is survived by his Daughter, Carolyn Elizabeth Preston Ledbetter; Son and Daughter-in-law, William Edward & Vivian Preston; Son, Arthur Gusty Preston; Sisters, Helen Gardner, Evelyn Bailey, Janice Marie Brumbelow; Brothers, Hulan Preston, Jack Preston, Jim Preston; 10 Grandchildren, 26 Great Grandchildren and 4 Great Great Grandchildren. A number of nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. William Jefferson Preston will be conducted on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. R. B. Hulsey officiating. Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday August 11, 2008 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following men will serve as pallbearers: Ray Ledbetter, Cliff Ledbetter, Eddie Preston, Chris Preston, Scott Blankenship, Todd Wilkes, Kenneth Millican, and Ron Askew. The Great Grandsons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements for Mr. William Jefferson Preston.
