Mr. William Derek Nichols, age 31, of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, May 10, 2012. He was born on July 25, 1980 in Rome, Georgia. Derek was the son of Zack Nichols and Patti Brown Stansell.

Mr. Nichols is survived by his mother and step-father, Patti and Mike Stansell, father and step-mother, Zack and Bobbie Nichols; brothers, Matt Nichols and Jaxson Nichols; sister, Savannah Nichols; grandparents, Henry and Bonnie Brown and Roy and Ann Nichols; aunt, Karen Ivester and cousins, Katie, Matthew and Bonnie Ivester.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Nichols will be conducted on Saturday, May 12, 2012 at four o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Joel Smith and Rev. Roger Kiser officiating and Rev. Jeff Pilgrim leading the family prayer.

Interment will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Nichols will receive family and friends on Saturday, May 12, 2012 from two o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Flowers are being accepted; however, donations can be made to the National Wildlife Federation, 11100 Wildlife Center Drive, Reston, VA 20190.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Cody Barrett, Jeffrey Collier, Chane Henderson, Jake Dooley, Jerry Barker and Johnny Cothran.
