Mr. William J. Mobley, age 80 of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2016. He was born on July 17, 1936 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Homer Leo and Sara Pauline Bowen Mobley.

Mr. Mobley was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from the National Guard. He then worked for Coke-Cola for 10 years. After leaving Coke-Cola, Mr. Mobley retired with 37 years from the United States Postal Service. He also was with the Paulding County Probation Detention Center in Dallas, Georgia for over 10 years.

Mr. Mobley is survived by his wife, Martha Mobley; daughters, Robin M. Alexander, Laurie M. Waters and Melody Harpe; son, William Stephen Mobley; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mr. Mobley is preceded in death by his parents and first wife, Catherine Jeanette Ogle Mobley.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. William J. Mobley will be conducted on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at two o'clock in the afternoon at World View Baptist Church with Rev. Larry Conner and Rev. RL Caswell officiating and Mrs. Kathryn Alexander Li given the eulogy.

Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with Rev. Doyle Kelley officiating and Full Military Rites conducted by the honor guard from Ft. Benning, Georgia.

The family of Mr. Mobley will receive family and friends on Saturday, August 27 from twelve (noon) till the funeral hour at World View Baptist Church.

The family has respectfully requested that flowers are to be omitted and donations can be made to Heyman Hospice of Floyd, 420 E. Second Avenue, Rome, GA 30161 or The Building Fund at Worldview Baptist Church, 500 N. College Drive, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Lyle Harpe, Jody Guice, Terry Collier, Tommy Forrester, Stephen Mobley and Shirl Mallory.

Honorary pallbearers will be the Post Office workers, Kenneth Waits, Henry Runyon, Kevin Patterson, Danny Nichols, Gary Martin, Donald Hillard, Jeff Standford, Tony Swafford, Noah Benefield and Billy Haney.
