Mr. William Thomas "Tommy" McElwee, Sr., age 77, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. He was born on November 2, 1937 in Cedartown. He was the son of the late William Thomas "Bud" McElwee and Lillian Johnson McElwee.

Mr. McElwee is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Jeanette Reese McElwee; daughters and son-in-laws, Esther Ann and Jeff Burger; Linda Elisabeth and Tony Burch and Rhonda Lindsey; sons and daughter-in-law, William Thomas McElwee, Jr., Tim McElwee, Craig McElwee and David and Lynette McElwee; sister and brother-in-law, Joan and Donald Shumate; brothers and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Asta McElwee and Terry McElwee; 13 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.

Mr. McElwee is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Betty Ann McElwee.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. McElwee will be conducted on Friday, June 5, 2015 at four o'clock in the afternoon in the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Butram officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with full Masonic Rites conducted by Caledonia Lodge #121.

The family of Mr. McElwee will receive family and friends on Thursday, June 4, 2015 from five o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Jeff Burger, Tony Burch, Tim McElwee, Craig McElwee, David McElwee, Tommy McElwee, Jr. and Grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will be: Pat Casey, Caledonia Lodge #121, Cedar Valley Shrine Club, Employees of McElwee Construction and the Friends and Staff of The Waffle House.
