Mr. William T. Garner, age 85, passed away on Monday, November 19, 2012. He was born on April 21, 1927 in Polk County. He was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd and Maureen Marrett Garner.
Mr. Garner was a United States Army veteran and a Merchant Marine and a retired brick mason.
Mr. Garner is survived by his daughter, Linda Pendergrass; son and daughter-in-law, Gary and Nancy Garner; grandchildren, Amanda Pendergrass, Benjamin Garner, Erin Garner Richards, Noah Garner, Ethan Garner, Will Garner, Emily Garner, Jacob Garner, Elyssa Garner and Gabby Garner and great-grandchildren, Aiden Pendergrass, William Richards, Hank Garner and Hailey Garner.
Mr. Garner is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Busby Garner and sister, Lorene Phair.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Garner will be conducted on Saturday, November 24, 2012 at one o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Mr. Gary Garner and Benjamin Garner given the eulogy.
Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family of Mr. Garner will receive family and friends on Saturday, November 24, 2012 from eleven o'clock in the morning until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Greg Busby, Jeff Priest and Clark Peek.
