Mr. William Reece Barrett, Jr. "Bill", age 58 of Destin, Florida, formerly of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at Redmond Regional Medical Center. He was born on September 10, 1954 in Rome, GA.

Mr. Barrett was a 1973 graduate of Samford University. Before going into a private business, Bill was employed by Newark Paper Company for many years. Bill moved to Destin, Florida upon retiring. Bill went there to enjoy his two favorite outdoor passions of fishing and hunting. Mr. Barrett was an active member of the Destiny Worship Center in Destin, Florida.

Mr. Barrett is survived by his parents, William Reece Barrett, Sr. and Patti Barrett; daughter and son-in-law, Chelsey Barrett Walker and Corey Walker; son, Christian Reece Barrett; sister, Risa Barrett Priestley; nephews, Joshua Barrett Priestley (Sharon) and Michael Jacob Priestley and one grand-niece, Paisley Elizabeth Priestley.

A memorial service for Mr. Barrett will be conducted on Friday, July 12, 2013 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive family and friends on Friday, July 12, 2013 from 10:30 am until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
