Mr. Will J. Elkins, age 87, of Cedartown, passed away on Friday, April 20, 2012. He was born on June 23, 1924 in Barrow County, Georgia.

He has been a member of New Harmony Baptist Church since 1946. He was employed at Goodyear Mills in Cedartown, Georgia for 29 years. He also was a veteran having served in the Army/Air Force.

Mr. Elkins is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, David & Glenda Elkins and Douglas & Brenda Elkins; grandchildren, Jason & Sandi Elkins, Jennifer Elkins, Cala & Seth Dittmer, and Lydia Elkins; great grandchildren, Kami Elkins, Hope Elkins, Emmory McIntyre, and Ethan McIntyre.

Mr. Elkins is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Vinson Elkins; parents, D.M. Elkins & Annie B. Latham Elkins, and several brothers and sisters.

The funeral service for Mr. Will J. Elkins will be conducted on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at three o'clock in the afternoon at New Harmony Baptist Church with Dr. DeWayne New & Frank Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.

The deacons of New Harmony Baptist Church will serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, April 21, 2012 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the New Harmony Baptist Church.

Flowers will be accepted, however, contributions to the New Harmony Baptist Church Building Fund are preferred.
