Mr. Wayne Lee Runyon Sr., age 69, of Cedartown passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2007. He was born July 14, 1938 in Polk County, Georgia the son of Gordon A. and Travis Lee Runyon.

Mr. Runyon was a veteran of the United States Navy, a Mason with membership in Caledonia Lodge F & AM #121, and a Shriner.

He is preceded in death by his parents; a daughter-in-law, Terry Lynn Runyon and a nephew, David Thomas Runyon.

Mr. Wayne Lee Runyon, Sr. is survived by wife, Mrs. Helen Mangum Runyon; sons, Wayne Lee Runyon, Jr. and Bryan Keith Runyon; brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Sheryl Runyon, Doug and Judy Runyon; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Howard and Joann Ferguson, Leo and Ann Garner of Tennessee; sister-in-law, Victoria Romine of Emerson. A grandson, Justin David Runyon; several nieces and nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mr. Wayne Lee Runyon, Sr. will be conducted on Sunday, October 21 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. L. A. Tapp officiating and speaking, Mr. Lee Runyon.

Interment will follow in Northview Cemetery with full military rites being conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Post #86 Honor Guard.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, October 20, from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Pallbearers are Bruce Meade, Bruce Joseph Meade, Billy Abernathy, Joel Runyon, Ted Porterfield, and Howard Ferguson. Honorary Pallbearers are Justin Runyon, Bryan Runyon, Jim Runyon, and Doug Runyon.
