Mr. Walter Jackson Clay, age 85, of Cedartown, passed away Monday, April 5, 2010. He was born February 21, 1925 in Dawson, Alabama, the son of Joel Washington Clay and Tennie Mae Crow Clay (both deceased).
Mr. Clay was a veteran of the United States Army having served during World War II. He was a member of American Legion Post #86.
Mr. Clay was a member of the Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Georgia, a Mason of Caledonia Lodge #121, Cedartown. He was raised to Master Mason on February 26, 1972.
Besides his parents Mr. Clay is preceded in death by daughter, Lou Anne Salcida; sons, David Jackson Clay and Danny Clay; six brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Walter Jackson Clay is survived by wife, Lucille Carter Clay; daughter, Pamela Kukenbeker; daughter and son-in-law, Pat and Johnny Blanton; son, Randy Clay; sister, Jean Cash, brother, Harvey Clay. Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a number of nieces and nephews also survive.
In keeping with his personal wishes, Mr. Clay was cremated. A graveside memorial service will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, April 9th. at Northview Cemetery.
