Mrs. Virginia Mathis Reynolds, age 87, of Cedartown, Georgia, formerly of Sumter, S.C., passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2011. She was born on January 31, 1924 in Marlboro County, S.C., the daughter of the late J.W. Mathis, Sr. and Dessie Brown Mathis.
Mrs.
Reynolds is preceded in death by her husband, Craig Reynolds; sisters, Marie Chewing, Elisabeth Blackwood, Agnes Dunlap; and brothers, J.W. Mathis, Jr, Edward Mathis, Donald Mathis, and Ernest Mathis.
She is survived by her daughter and son in-law, Patsy and Ken Wingate; daughter, Deborah Galyon; 5 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.
The funeral service for Mrs. Virginia Mathis Reynolds will be conducted on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Larry Conner and Rev. Tony Weaver officiating.
Interment will follow in the Evergreen Memorial Park in Sumter, South Carolina on Thursday August 4, 2011 at one o'clock in the afternoon with Rev. Charles Owens officiating.
The family of Mrs. Reynolds will receive friends on Tuesday, August 2, 2011 from 6:00 till 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Worldview Church, 500 North College Drive, Cedartown, Georgia 30125.
