Obituary

Virginia D. "Jenny" Blythe, age 88, of Rome, formerly Cedartown, passed away on Friday, February 3, 2012, at her residence. She was born June 14, 1923, in Anniston, Calhoun County, AL.

As the wife of a WWII Veteran, Mrs. "Jenny" Blythe proudly served her country through her unfailing support of her husband and nation. She was a lifelong and faithful member of the Cedartown Church of God. She leaves to her family a strong Christian heritage and will always be remembered as a "praying Mother". She spent much of her time reading, but mostly she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by: parents, Henry Sampson Dean & Gertrude Asbill Dean; husband, Charles Edward Blythe; and brother and sisters, Leroy Dean, Mildred Bledsoe, Carolyn Dean and Dela Ruth Dean.

Mrs. "Jenny" Blythe is survived by her children: Michael E. Blythe & Terry Higgs, Carrollton, GA; Kenneth C. Blythe & Kathy Blythe, Silver Creek, GA; and Ann Blythe Gore & Don Gore, Rome, GA; five grandchildren, Kristi Blythe Rose (Jim), Karla Blythe Crabbe (Scott), Wesley Blythe (Keisha), Melissa Blythe Roberson (Brad), and Kevin Blythe (Wendy); and seven great grandchildren, Catherine Roberson, Kodiak Crabbe, Blythe Crabbe, Mallory Rose, Thomas Roberson, Carter Blythe and Anderson Blythe.

The funeral service for Virginia D. "Jenny" Blythe will be conducted on Sunday, February 5th, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Delton Harne and Rev. John Moates officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends Sunday, February 5th from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Wesley Blythe, Kevin Blythe, Scott Crabbe, Brad Roberson, Jim Rose and Philip Bledsoe.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Virginia D. "Jenny" Blythe.
