Mr. Vernon Lee Walker, age 78, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2013. He was born on May 18, 1934 in Dallas, Georgia.

Mr. Walker was a veteran serving in the United States Coast Guard.

Mr. Walker is survived by his daughter, Karen Dingler (Tommy); sisters, Susan Graham (Sam, Lawana Smith (Ray, and Joan Gravett); grandchildren, Jessica Watkins (Heath), Lee Dingler (June) and Joshua Walker (Brittany); great grandchildren, Jordan, John, Emmalee, Makenzie, Mark and Jewell; and special friend, Linda Weaver.

Mr. Walker is preceded in death by his mother and father, Leonard & Irene Walker ; wife, Mary Annette Walker; son, Mark Alan Walker; brother, Meredith Walker; and sister, Juanita Gravett.

The funeral service for Mr. Walker will be conducted on Tuesday, May 7, 2013 at four o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery with Full Military Rites conducted by the American Legion Brewster Cleveland Post 86.

The family of Mr. Walker will receive family and friends on Monday, May 6, 2013, from six o'clock to eight o'clock at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Jordan Watkins, John Watkins, Tony Walker, Jeff Gravett, John Bolson and David O'Neal.
