Mrs. Verna Short, age 96, of Cedartown, GA passed away on Saturday, October 26, 2013. She was born on January 26, 1917 in Rutledge, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Frankie and Jimmey Stapp. Mrs. Short was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.

Mrs. Short is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Carole & Donald Hatch; grandchildren, Randy Hatch, Anita Williams (Barry), Sammy Hatch, Chris Hatch; great grandchildren, Raven Gresham, Dave Owens, Drew Owens (Erica), Josh Hatch, Jarrod Hatch, Ashley Nichols, Matt Williams; four great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Short is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Andrew Short.

The funeral service for Mrs. Verna Short will be held on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at 2:00 in the afternoon in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. John Moore officiating. The interment service for Mrs. Short will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Dave Owens, Drew Owens, Josh Hatch, Jarrod Hatch, Frankie Atkins, and John Armistead

The family will receive family and friends for two hours prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, October 29, 2013 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Verna Short
