Thomas Fredrick Farmer's Obituary
Mr. Thomas Fredrick Farmer, age 80 of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, February 24, 2014. He was born on September 13, 1933 in Mayodan, North Carolina. He was the son of the late Thomas Berkley Farmer and Annie Gatewood Farmer.
Mr. Farmer was retired from the US Air Force. He retired with rank of Tech Sergeant and Air Police. Mr. Farmer retired from the military and moved to Cedartown. He retired from the Polk County Police Department as Chief after 20 years of law enforcement with the same county. He was the former President of the Cedartown Lions Club. He coached the Homestead A.F.B. baseball team and coached Quic-Way Women's softball team of Cedartown.
Mr. Farmer is survived by his daughter, Debbie Farmer and brothers and sister-in-law, Tony Farmer and Alice, Jimmy Farmer and Ken Farmer.
Mr. Farmer is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Geraldine Perdue Farmer "Geri" and brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie and Barbara Farmer.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Farmer will be conducted on Thursday, February 27, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Cedartown with Wayne Benefield officiating.
The family of Mr. Farmer will receive family and friends on Thursday, February 27, 2014 from one o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the First Baptist Church.
Flowers are to be omitted and memorial donations can be made to the Memorial Fund for First Baptist Church of Cedartown, 101 N. Collage Street, Cedartown, GA 30125 or any of the Veterans Memorial Funds.
Honorary pallbearers will be Flora Miller, Michael McGee, Barry Wallace, Everett Willis and the Polk County Police Department.
Interment will be on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Municipal Cemetery in Mayodan, North Carolina.
The family will receive family and friends also on Friday, February 28, 2014 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Wray Funeral Home in Mayodan, North Carolina. A graveside service will be conducted on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at Municipal Cemetery with Full Military Rites.
