Theo Belle Wood Waddell, age 80 of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, August 31, 2014. She was born on May 11, 1934 in Haralson County, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late
Rev. Alfred Monroe Wood & Sallie Azilee Garner Wood.
Theo was a member of Faith Missionary Baptist Church and was a retired Seamstress. She was a member of the Eastern Star where she served as a Worthy Matron and was also a member of the Cedar Valley Shrinettes.
She is survived by her son, Rodney Gene Waddell (Nikki); grandson, Daulton Waddell; granddaughters, Savanna Bordelon and Katlin Bordelon; sister, Inez Wood Chandler; sisters-in-law, Christine Wood and Mary Anne Wood; a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great-great nieces, great-great nephews, and cousins also survive.
Ms. Waddell is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Billy Gene Waddell; daughter, Melinda Belle Waddell; son, Brandon Alfred Waddell; sisters, Florence Williams, Zera Mize, Gertrue Wood; brothers, Ralph Wood, Rev. Hoyt Wood, Carlton Wood, Euzeal Wood, Cefard Wood and an infant brother; niece, Sybil Wood Troski; and nephew, Johnny Williams.
The funeral arrangements for Ms. Waddell will be conducted on Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Three o'clock in the afternoon in the Chapel of Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Danny Tucker officiating. Rev. Larry Mize will be performing the music and delivering a eulogy. Interment will follow in the family plot at Crossroads Baptist Church Cemetery in Tallapoosa, Georgia.
The family of Ms. Waddell will receive family and friends on Tuesday, September 2, 2014 from Six o'clock till Eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Cleve Hartley, Jerry Palmer, Michael Wood, James Warren, Richard Williams, Joe Henderson; with Wendell Wood, Paul Browne, James Heard, Bobby Layton, Tony Barrera, and Todd Wood serving as honorary pallbearers.
