Rev. Steven Lynn Whitman, age 59 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Friday, November 6, 2015. He was born on March 10, 1956 in Bremen, Georgia.

At the age of 16 Rev. Whitman ran a Christian coffee shop known as the Sunshine Coffee house. He was a talented man who witnessed to people in many ways including through ventriloquism. He was a traveled pastor, having pastored churches in Tennessee, Missouri, Louisiana, and Georgia.

Rev. Whitman is survived by his wife, Susan Dunn Whitman; mother, Elizabeth Smith Whitman; daughters, Brandy Bennett and Casie Bennett; sister, Yvonne Gaines (Eddie); grandchildren, Jaxon Bennett, Morghann Bennett, Albany Bennett, Haven Bounds, Brittney Cahoon, and Payton Bennett; great-grandchild, Brayden Bennett; and nieces, Holly Webb and Heather South.

Rev. Whitman is preceded in death by his father, Rev. Amos Whitman and son, Joseph Bennett.

The funeral arrangements for Rev. Whitman will be conducted on Tuesday, November 10, 2015 at one o'clock in the afternoon at New Hope Fellowship with Rev. Steve Fetkenhour, Mr. Bobby Brooks, and Mr. Danny Roberson officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Hopewell Baptist Church Cemetery in Heflin, Alabama with the Apostle Pank Adams officiating.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Walt Fincher, Tony Bowling, Johnathan Blackmon, David Ash, Hal Floyd, and Joe Wayne Zebeau.

The family of Rev. Whitman will receive family and friends on Monday, November 9, 2015 from five o'clock till eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
