Mrs. Sloan Griffin Nelson, age 59, of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024.  She was born on February 22, 1965 in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late James Arthel Griffin, Jr. and Julia Faye Guice Griffin.

Mrs. Nelson is survived by her loving husband of 28 years, Charles Nelson; sons, Josh Warren and Dakota Nelson; brothers, David Mitchell and Dwane Johnston; sisters, Susan Johnston and Ina Alexander; grandchildren, Micah, Elijah, Payten, Leighann and Jathen; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members and close friends.

The funeral service for Mrs. Nelson will be held on Friday, July 19, 2024 at three o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jonathan Blackmon and Mrs. Stacie Baines officiating.  Mrs. Nelson will be cremated after the funeral service.

The family of Mrs. Nelson will receive family and friends on Friday, July 19, 2024 from one o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.
