Mrs. Shirley Benefield, age 70, of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2011. She was born on May 24, 1940 in Suchess Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Ernest and Bonnie Seabolt.

Shirley loved her grandchildren, her rat terrier "Little Man", and fishing on Terrapin Creek in Piedmont, Alabama.

Mrs. Benefield is survived by husband, Wayne Benefield; daughter and special friend, Romaine Hughes and Travis Schnapp; daughter and son-in-law, Renea and Mark Sutton; son and fiancée Tommy Benefield and Melinda Rogers; brother, Roger Seabolt; grandchildren, Jamie Benefield, Hobie Wooten and fiancée Lacy Shanks, Benji Wooten and fiancée Harley Matthews; sister in law/sister, Juanita Agan; and special friends and caregivers, Carmen and Amanda Romo.

Mrs. Benefield is preceded in death by her parents, sister, Earlene Goodwin; brothers, J.W. Seabolt and James Seabolt; and grandchild Nick Hughes.

The funeral arrangements for Mrs. Benefield will be conducted on Tuesday, April 5, 2011 at two o'clock in the afternoon at the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Talmadge Pope, Rev. Jerome Smith, and Rev. Cory Smith officiating. Music will be provided by Tim Malone.
Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens.

The family of Mrs. Benefield will receive friends on Monday, April 4, 2011 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen have been asked to serve as pallbearers; Edward Akins, Jimmy Cash, Brad Hilliard, Barry Henderson, Bill Akins, Wade Akins. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Jackson and Jimmy Newman.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangement for Mrs. Shirley Benefield.
