Ms. Sarah Alice Dempsey Owens, age 74, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2014. She was born on September 26, 1939 in Cedartown, Georgia to the late James Clifford Dempsey and Alene Smith Dempsey.

Ms. Owens is survived by her daughters and son-in-law, Teresa and Kevin Sides, and Lisa Green; grandchildren, Brandi Hanson, Jay Colburn, Daniel Barfield, Amanda Smith, and A.J. Dostart Jr.; great grandchildren, Keaven Hanson, Maci Lowman, Kody Lowman, Jodi Lowman, Bayli Lowman, Aubri Dostart, Zarin Smith, Hadleigh Barfield, Jayden Colburn, and Dekota Colburn; sister, Mary Berry; and brother Homer Dempsey.

Ms. Owens is preceded in death by her husband, Joe Allen Owens; grandson, J.T. Green; brothers, Daniel Dempsey and an infant baby brother.

A graveside service for Ms. Owens will be conducted on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 2:30 pm in the afternoon at Oak Knoll Cemetery in Rome, Georgia with Rev.  Roger Whorton officiating.

The family of Ms. Owens will receive family and friends on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 from 1:00 to 2:00 in the afternoon at the Gammage Funeral Home.
