Mrs. Sara Joan Venable York, age 79 of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, January 16, 2017. She was born on October 9, 1937 in Cedartown. She was the daughter of the late Aubra and Estelle Goodwin Venable.

Mrs. York is survived by her daughter, Debra York Hutto; grandchildren, Mark Riding, Eric Riding, Kevin York and April Hunter and 11 great-grandchildren.

Mrs. York is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Harvey Jackson York; son, Gregory Wayne York; brother, Edward Venable and great-grandson.

A graveside service will be conducted on Wednesday, January 18, 2017 at eleven o'clock in the morning at Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. James Guy and Rev. Roger Whorton officiating.
