Mr. Samuel Ray Hughes, age 60 of Cedartown, passed away on Friday, August 4, 2017. He was born on August 8, 1956 in Fort Payne Alabama. Sam was self employed as an independent contractor, where he helped many people in Polk County and made many friends.

Sam is survived by his mother, Pecolia Ann Chadwick Hughes; daughter and son-in-law, Shea Hughes Frasier and Chad; son, Ben Hughes; brothers, Mark Hughes and David Hughes; grandchildren, McKenna, Garrison, Kendall, Chase, and Mollie. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Sam is preceded in death by his father, Jack Lamar Hughes and brother, Taylor Lamar Hughes.

In keeping with Sam's wishes he was cremated. A visitation service for Mr. Samuel Hughes will be conducted on Saturday, August 12th, 2017, from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Gammage Funeral Home.
