Obituary

Ms. Ruth Rampley Colbert, age 86 of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016. She was born on April 22, 1929 in Cedartown, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late Roy Monroe and Lilly Mozelle Pruitt Rampley.

Ms. Colbert retired from Polk School District with over 54 years of service. She began working in 1947 and worked with 13 different superintendants.

Ms. Colbert is survived by her children, Seals Allen Colbert, Pamela C. Halbrooks (Joe) and Kenneth Scott Colbert; sisters, Ethel Bowen (Bobby), Ellen Isham, Dora Mae Earley and Jeanette Haney; brothers, Roy Rampley (Erma) and Johnny Rampley (Joan); grandchildren, Jeremy Colbert (Shannon), Hunter Colbert (Summer), Ramplee Colbert, Kelley Zinder (Tyler) and Trey Halbrooks (Molly) and great-grandchild, Brooke Zinder.

Ms. Colbert is preceded in death by her parents and brother, Robert Rampley.

A graveside service for Ms. Ruth Rampley Colbert will be conducted on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at one o'clock in the afternoon at Greenwood Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.

The family of Ms. Colbert will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 20, 2016 from eleven o'clock in the morning until the graveside service hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Seals Allen Colbert, Carl Redding, Jeremy Colbert, Hunter Colbert, Trey Halbrooks and Tyler Zinder.
