Mr. Rudy Wayne Odom, age 70 of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was born on May 1, 1946 in Cedartown. He was the son of the late Terry Colquitt Odom and Sarah Elise Lane Odom Bentley.
Mr. Odom was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Caledonia Lodge 121 and the Cedar Valley Shine Club.
Mr. Odom is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Jones Odom; daughter, Larissa Perry; sons and daughter-in-law, Wayne Odom, Blake Odom (Missy) and Clint Odom; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and James Richards, brother and sister-in-law, Lewis and Peggy Odom; brother-in-law, Joe Brock and grandchildren, Bella Perry, Ben Odom, Kolby Odom, Dalton Odom, Austin Sheppard and Jake Odom.
Mr. Odom is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Judy Odom Brock and grandchild, Justin James Odom.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Rudy Wayne Odom will be conducted on Thursday, March 9, 2017 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. John Vines and Rev. Jerry McCurdy officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with Full Military Rites conducted by the Brewster-Cleveland American Legion Honor Guard Post #86.
The family of Mr. Odom will receive family and friends on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Mark Hughes, Johnny Moates, Jeff Whitfield, Gary Puckett, Jim Morris and Karl Sheppard. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Huckaby and John Vines.
Flowers are being accepted; however, donations can be made to the Shriner's Children's Hospital, 2900 N. Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
