Obituary

Ms. Ruby Alice Moncrief Holland, age 87 of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, February 20, 2014. She was born on February 3, 1927 in Cleburne County, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edgar and Rosa Mae Wheeler Moncrief.

Ms. Holland was retired from Goodyear with 38 years of service. She was the oldest member of the Cedartown church of Christ.

Ms. Holland is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Angela Holland Bentley and Larry; granddaughter, Alicia Bentley Lewis and Billy Joe; two great-granddaughters, Lexie Lewis and Aubree Lewis; sister, Frances Powell; sister-in-law, Dessie Pettyjohn; brothers-in-law, Edward and Betty Holland and Robert and Laquaita Holland; nieces and nephews, Sherry and Morgan Tracy, Cathy and Aaron Smith, Kay and Richard Ayer and Van and Jeanne Powell; special friends, Charles and Barbara Trippe and other nieces and nephews also survive.

Ms. Holland is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 68 years, James Harrison Holland, Sr.; son, James Harrison "Jimmy" Holland, Jr. and grandson, Stephen "Jason" Bentley.

The funeral arrangements for Ms. Holland will be conducted on Sunday, February 23, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon at Cedartown church of Christ with Minister Ed Lee and Minister Bob Gray officiating. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to the funeral at the church.

The family of Ms. Holland will receive family and friends on Saturday, February 22, 2014 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The follow gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Jake Ayer Hunter Ayer, Billy Joe Lewis, Greg Carter, Ricky Mathis, Shiron Cook, Terry Sensing and Van Powell. Honorary pallbearers will be Alicia, Lexie and Aubree Lewis, Charles and Barbara Trippe, Barry Henderson, the men of the Cedartown church of Christ and nieces and nephews.
