Ruby Louise Byers Lorren was born August 25, 1933 in Borden Springs, Alabama to Louis and Bessie Wesson Byers. She died on Friday, August 21, 2009.

Mrs. Lorren lived most of her life in Borden Springs and considered it to be home. She worked in textiles until she retired. After retiring she enjoyed many years of meeting with the Ladies Group and working with the Bear Huggers of Borden Springs. Later on she was honored with lifetime memberships.

Mrs. Lorren was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who loved cooking and was especially known for her delicious cakes. She was considered, affectionately by many, as "Aunt Ruby". She will be greatly missed by family and friends that were privileged to have her in part of their lives.

She is survived by a daughter, Cathy (David) Baker; daughter in-law, Suzie McDonald; granddaughter, Pam (Dwayne) Goss; grandson, Shane Lorren; great grandchildren, Lauryn and Caelan Goss and Madison Lorren; sister, Willie Gillie; brother, Emmett Byers; special pet, Pixie.

Mrs. Lorren was preceded in death by her parents, Louis and Bessie Byers; husband, Paul Lorren; son, Bill Lorren; grandson, Chris Lorren; sisters, Parilee Adkins, Vivian Ridley, and Lorrene Lorren; brothers, Gordon Byers, Joe Byers, Homer Byers, and Charles Byers.

The family will receive friends Monday, August 24 from 6 until 8PM. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 25 at 11:00 at Folsom Funeral Home with Gary McCurdy officiating. Interment will follow in the Borden Springs church of Christ cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Caelan Goss, David Pollard, Gorden Lorren, Mack Lorren, Ryan Lorren, and Tony Byers. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bear Huggers and Ladies Group of Borden Springs.

The Folsom-Mickelsen Funeral Home in Piedmont, Alabama is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Ruby Louise Byers Lorren.

The Olin L. Gammage & Sons Funeral Home is making this local announcement for the family.
