Roy Donald "Donnie" Reese's Obituary
Mr. Roy Donald "Donnie" Reese, age 66, of Cedartown passed away Monday, November 12, 2012. He was born November 7, 1946 in Atlanta, GA, the son of the late Truman Jefferson Reese and Maxine McPherson Williams.
He was a veteran of the United States Army having served in Vietnam and Korea, and was the recipient of the Purple Heart.
Mr. Reese is preceded in death by his mother and father.
He is survived by wife, Cathy Leona Reese; daughters, Jeani Denise Reese and Pamela Diane Reese both of Rome ; sons, Truman Donald Reese and wife Erica, Charles Kevin "Boo" Reese, all of Rome; step-mother, Nancy O. Reese of Smyrna; brothers, T. J. Reese and wife Nancy of Miami, FL, Vernon L. Reese and wife Lupe of Kennesaw; Ray M. Reese and wife Martie of Marietta; Clyde C. Reese and wife Darlene of Dallas; Walter R. Reese of Lawrenceville; sisters, Jeanette McElwee and husband Tommy of Cedartown; Linda J. Shadix of Decatur, Mittie E. Everett of Temple; Robin L. Grogan of Dallas, Shelba J. Jackson and husband Jackie of Bowdon; Nancy J. Freeman of Bowdon.
Also surviving are granddaughters, Chrissta Shay Koutsovalas and husband, Tommy of Caldeonia, Mississippi, Kayla Denise Guttery of Cedartown, Sara Leah Reese, Kayla Hope Mazzo, Olivia Jade Hardegree and husband Kenneth, Makenzi Kare Louallen, Shelbi Jean Louallen, all of Rome; Grandsons, Jaron Wayne Pollard, Warner Robins, GA, John Paul Mazzo, Jr., Taylor Dalton Reese, Bryson Mitchell Reese, and Tylor Dylan Reese all of Rome. Also 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and grand nephews survive.
In keeping with Mr. Reese's wishes he was cremated. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Thursday, November 15th at 6:00 p.m. at the Calvary Assembly of God, 300 Canal St. U.S. 278, Cedartown, GA 30125. Eulogies will be given by family and friends.
In lieu of flowers make donations to Scottish Rite Children's Hospital, 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd. N.E., Atlanta, GA 30342-1605.
The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Roy Donald "Donnie" Reese.
