Obituary

Mr. Roy Benefield, age 64, of Silver Creek, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014. He was born on August 31, 1950 in Cedartown, Georgia. He was the son of the late Andrew H. Benefield and Sara Elizabeth Davis Benefield.

Mr. Benefield is survived by his sister; Betty Ann Pickens and her fiancé David Johnson, brothers; Herman Benefield and Henry "Nathan" Benefield and his wife Billie Benefield, and his nieces and nephews; Darrell Hooker, Billie Benefield, Misty Benefield, Matthew Benefield, Brandon Byrd, and Tara Benefield, step-brothers and step-sisters; Ricky Benefield, Ruth Benefield, Ronnie Benefield, and Renee Benefield.

Mr. Benefield was preceded in death by his parents.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Benefield will be conducted on Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Dr. Jeff Dabbs officiating.

Interment will follow in the Antioch Baptist Church cemetery.

The family of Mr. Benefield will receive family and friends on Tuesday, October 14, 2014 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Nathan Benefield, Herman Benefield, Matthew Benefield, David Benefield, Joe Williams, and David Johnson; with Brandon Byrd and Brandon Byrd Jr. serving as honorary pallbearers.

The family would like to give a special thanks to Crystal Bell and the staff of Network Services and other friends from the Training Center.
