Mr. Robert William Peek, Sr., age 80, of Cedartown passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2012. He was born on October 3, 1932 in Atlanta, Georgia to the late Thomas Edwin Peek Sr. and Mable Foster Peek.
Mr. Peek retired from the U.S. Postal Service. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a Mason, and a member of the Second Baptist Church in Cedartown.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a son, Robert W. Peek, Jr.; and three brothers, Edwin Peek, Larry Peek, and Harry Peek.
Mr. Peek is survived by a loving wife of 57 years, Pauline "Polly" Cantrell Peek; daughters and son-in-laws, Vickie Peek Jenkins and Larry, Abbie Peek Folds and Tommy; son and daughter-in-law, Franklin Peek and Jessica; daughter-in-law, Carolyn Peek; 11 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and several loving nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Robert William Peek, Sr. will be conducted on Tuesday, October 16th, at twelve o'clock noon at the Second Baptist Church in Cedartown with Rev. Patrick Latham and Rev. Bill Heaton officiating. The interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery.
The American Flag will be presented by the Brewster Cleveland American Legion Post 86 Honor Guard with grandson Robert W. Peek, III playing taps.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Tuesday, October 16th at the Second Baptist Church beginning at eleven o'clock in the morning.
The family has requested that flowers be omitted and that any memorial contributions be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund.
Mr. Peek's grandsons will be serving as pallbearers, Michael Gardner, Jim Montgomery, Jason Caldwell, Adam Peek, Brian Dickerhoof, Chris Black, Jacob Hogsed, and Tommy Jenkins.
Honorary Pallbearers will be the Senior Mem's Sunday School Class.
