Dr. Robert Jarrell, Md's Obituary
Dr. Robert Jarrell, MD, loving husband and father left us for his heavenly reward on May 31, 2014. He was born on February 10, 1931 and was the son of the late Jacob B. and Emily Norris Jarrell.
Dr. Jarrell graduated from Greenville High School, Emory at Oxford and the University of Georgia. Mr. Jarrell received his MD from the Medical College of Georgia in 1956. Dr. Jarrell interned at the Baptist Hospital in Atlanta along with serving three years in the US Public Health Service. Dr. Jarrell served a residency at the University of Florida and one year fellowship in Radiology at the University of Virginia. Dr. Jarrell continued to practice Diagnostic Radiology for 43 years at several locations throughout Georgia.
Dr. Jarrell was a member and Deacon of the Cedartown First Baptist Church in Cedartown and also several memberships in medical organizations including the Medical Association of Georgia and The American College of Radiology.
Dr. Jarrell is survived by his wife Linda M. Jarrell and children Robert Jr. and his wife Susan and Jonathan Murphy Jarrell; one grandson Robert H. Jarrell.
Dr. Jarrell is preceded in death by his parents; son William Linton Jarrell; sisters, Judy Sampler; brother, Jacob B. Jarrell III.
In keeping with Dr. Jarrell's wishes, he was cremated. A memorial service for Dr. Jarrell will be conducted on Saturday June 7th, 2014 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the sanctuary of the First Baptist Church with Dr. David Taylor, Rev. Wayne Benefield and Rev. Jim Norris officiating. Inurnment will be conducted on June 21, 2014 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Athens, Georgia.
The family of Dr. Jarrell will receive family and friends on Saturday June 7th, 2014 starting at ten o'clock in the morning until the memorial service. The inurnment of Dr. Jarrell will take place at a later date in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Athens, Georgia.
Dr. Jarrell's Sunday School class and the Deacons of First Baptist have been asked to serve as Honorary Pallbearers during the memorial service.
Flowers are to be omitted; however, memorial donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or a charity of your choice.
