Lieutenant Commander Robert D. May, II, USN (ret.) age 59, of Cedartown, passed away on Monday, September 30, 2013. He was born on September 7, 1954 in Orangeburg, South Carolina. He was the son of the late Robert D. May, MD and Marilyn "Mickey" Watts May.

Mr. May was a retired Lieutenant Commander of the United States Navy and a retired Sergeant of the Cobb County Police Department.

Mr. May is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie Weld May; daughter, Susan Leigh May; sons, Peter Michael May and Reed Earnest May; step-sons, Todd Kuhn and Rusty Kuhn; brother and sister-in-law, Steven May and Mary Ellen; 10 grandchildren and numerous uncles, aunts, nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. May is preceded in death by his parents and son, Robert D. May, III.

The funeral service for Mr. May will be conducted on Saturday, October 5, 2013 at 12:30 pm at New Hope Fellowship Church, 136 Blanch Road, Cedartown, GA 30125.

The family of Mr. May will receive family and friends on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 10:30am until the funeral hour at the New Hope Fellowship Church.
