Mr. Ricky Joe Shirey, age 52, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away on Monday, March 9, 2009, from injuries sustained from an automobile accident. He was born October 31, 1956 in Floyd County.

He was a dedicated employee of 21 years of Sara Lee Bakery.

Mr. Ricky Joe Shirey is survived by wife, Katherine Ann Bentley Shirey; daughter, Summer Shirey; sons, Tim Shirey, Mark Bentley, and Linn Shirey; father, Hughie Shirey; sisters, April Fortenberry and Diane Fowler; brothers, Thomas Shirey and Darryl Shirey. Grandchildren, Noah Shirey, Tysen Dougherty, Bryce Shirey, Haven Shirey, and Talan Shirey also survive.

He is preceded in death by mother, Frances Broome Shirey.

The funeral service for Mr. Shirey will be conducted on Thursday, March 12th at 2:30 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. David Thornton officiating.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 11th, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Tommy Garner, Ronald Bannon, Andrew Wiggins, Joey Fowler, Daniel Shirey, and Larry Broome.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Ricky Joe Shirey.
