Mr. Richard Steve Rice, age 64, of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, November 23, 2011. He was born in Cedartown, Georgia, on April 27, 1947 to the late Mr. George Anderson Rice and Mrs. Minnie Estelle Coleman Rice.

Mr. Rice is preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter, Cathleen Rice; and a grandson, Brenton Rice.

Mr. Rice is survived by his wife, Janice Elaine Lorrens Rice; son and daughter-in-law, Steven and Jamie Rice; four grandchildren, Andrew Rice, Jacob Rice, Chloe Rice, Raylee Rice; and two sisters, Patsy Hatch and Rita Lester.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Rice will be conducted on Saturday, November 26, 2011 at two o'clock in the afternoon at the Second Baptist Church of Cedartown with Rev. Patrick Latham and Rev. Danny Tucker officiating.

Interment will follow in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Bill Heaton officiating at the Graveside Committal service.

The family of Mr. Rice will receive family and friends on Friday November 25, 2011 from six o'clock in the afternoon until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Kenneth Ferguson, Barry Rice, Mike Rice, Larry Thomas, Kenneth Davis, and Joseph Mauldin will serve as Pallbearers. Willie Knight will serve as an Honorary Pallbearer.

Flowers will be accepted or contributions can be made to the Second Baptist Church Building Fund.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mr. Richard Steve Rice.
