Rev. Floyd Eugene "Gene" Beck, age 75, of Cedartown passed away on Sunday, March 18, 2012. He was born March 25, 1936 in Polk County, the son of Charlie and Jimmie Hackney Beck. He was retired from Jefferson-Smurfit.

Rev. Beck answered his spiritual calling over thirty years ago. He was a beloved man of God preaching the gospel and pastoring numerous churches in this community.

He is preceded in death by parents; wife, Mary Ruth Cook Beck; daughter, Debra Jean Beck; brothers, Duggan Beck, William Beck, and Troy Beck.

Rev. Gene Beck is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Robbie Sullivan and daughter, Judy Watson; sister, June Beck; brother and sister-in-law, Leroy and Lillian Beck. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

The funeral service for Rev. Gene Beck will be conducted on March 21st at twelve noon at Eastview Baptist Church with Rev. Reginald Campbell, Rev. Jeff Pilgrim, and Bro. Joey Colquitt officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service.

Interment will be in Eastview Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 20th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Gerald Green, Joel Beck, David Beck, Tony Richardson, Ronald Head, and Cliff Burnham. Honorary pallbearers are Neal Beck, James Green, Bud Green, David Green..
