Mr. Ray Jerome Carter, age 81, of Cedartown, passed away on Sunday, March 31, 2013. He was born on September 13, 1931 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Mr. Wiley Carter and Mrs. Ethel Ophelia Brown Carter.

Mr. Carter is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mrs. Joan Camarata Carter; daughter Chris Coile and friend Scott Williams; sons and daughters-in-law, Dan and Beth Carter and Ray "Slugger" and Nina Carter; sister, Ethel Carter; grandchildren, Joseph and Sarah Carter, Besty Carter, Lorri and Courtney Burdette, Meagan and Nicholas Carter and Becky and JD Brewer, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.

Mr. Carter is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, James Carter and Billy Carter.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. Carter will be conducted on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at two o'clock in the afternoon at the Gammage Funeral Home with Dr. Wayne Bray and Dr. Phil Bray officiating. Interment will follow in the Northview Cemetery.

The family of Mr. Carter will receive family and friends on Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from twelve o'clock in the afternoon until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Nicholas Carter, Frank Burgess, Jr., Jimmy Carter, Bob Worthington, Dicky Chandler, Gayland Cooper and Gary Martin.
