Phillip Roger Brown, age 69 of Cedartown, passed away on Saturday, August 3, 2013. He was born on July 8, 1944 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Mr. Artie Lee Brown and the late Mrs. Pauline Sloman Brown.

Mr. Brown was a faithful member of Bible Baptist Church in Rockmart, Georgia. He was a proud veteran having served in the United States Air Force and was retired from the Georgia Power Company. He was a graduate of Cedartown High School.

Mr. Brown is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Mrs. Marsha Garner Brown; daughters and son-in-law, Tara Stringer and Jason, Jada Deaton and Greg, Keri Bush and Kevin; 11 grandchildren, Caleb Stringer, Madelyn Stringer, Seth Stringer, Jared Stringer, Summer Rose Stringer, Maggie Deaton, Audrey Deaton, Abigail Deaton, Noah Deaton, Jacob Bush, Ava Bush; sisters, Brenda Gaylor, Paulette Wood, Connie Brown; brother, Gerry Brown.

The funeral service for Mr. Phil Brown will be conducted on Monday, August 5, 2013 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jason Stringer, Bro. Todd Brown, and Bro. Bud Davis officiating and with a eulogy by Caleb Stringer. Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery with full military rites conducted by the Brewster Cleveland American Legion Post 86 Honor Guard.

The family will receive family and friends on Sunday, August 4, 2013 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to Life Matters Outreach of Cedartown Georgia, P.O. Box 313, Cedartown, GA. 30125.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Mark Garner, Greg Jones, Ethan Jones, Kip Moore, Clay Moore, T. J. Brown, and Chuck Gaylor. Mr. Brown's grandsons will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
