Mr. Paul O. Moody, age 72, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away Monday, February 15, 2010. He was born November 20, 1937 in Polk County, the son of the late Homer and Zula Atkins Moody. Along with his parents he is preceded in death by sister, Betty Worthington; brothers, Charles Moody, Verdell Moody and Clinton Moody.
Mr. Moody was a dedicated member of New Harmony Baptist Church. He was a member of Caledonia Lodge #121 and the Cedar Valley Shrine Club.
Mr. Moody is survived by wife, Peggy J. Lane Moody; children, Scott Coy Moody, Tammy Moody Errigo, Michael Paul Moody; siblings, Jeanette Morgan, Homer Moody, Jr., Sara Moody, Harland Moody, Shirley Redding. Four grandchildren and one great-grandchild also survive.
The funeral service for Mr. Paul O. Moody will be conducted on Thursday, February 18th, at 1:00 p.m. at New Harmony Baptist Church with Dr. DeWayne New and Rev. Sammy Stephens officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 12:00 noon until the funeral hour.
Following the funeral service, the interment will be in Northview Cemetery. Pallbearers are Ben Moody, Don Moody, Randy Hackney, Shay Moody, Ronnie Worthington, and Charles Brock. Honorary pallbearers are Wilson Wallace, Nickey Bedford, Euzell Jones, and Chuck Harmison.
The Caledonia Lodge #121 and West Georgia Memorial Club will conduct Masonic Rites.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 17th, from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home.
