Mrs. Para Pruitt Howell, age 89, of Cedartown passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2009. She was born February 6, 1919 in Cleburn County, Alabama.
Mrs. Para Howell was a long time member of the Pine Bower Baptist Church and a retiree of Jockey International.
Mrs. Howell is preceded in death by her husband, William Harold Howell and her parents, John Benjamin Pruitt and Frances Blanche Walker Pruitt.
She is survived by daughters, Mary Jo Walker and her husband, Murray Walker, Sue Mason, and Sarah Sparks; son, William "Bill" Howell; sister, Laura Arbelle Crawford. Eight grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild also survive.
The funeral service will be conducted on Saturday, February 7, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Jason Loudermilk officiating. The interment will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Howell's grandsons, Mark Sparks, Greg Mason, David Mason, Jeff Mason, Dylan Mason, Brent Mason, Dan Sparks, and Ryan Casey are serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are grandchildren, Missy Casey, Lori Merritt, Taylor Casey, John Sparks, Cade Mason, Seth Mason, Jolie Mason, Jake Mason, Jaxon Sparks, and Zack Mason.
The family will receive friends on Friday, February 6th, from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.
