Mr. Oliver McGatha, age 83 of Cedartown, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014. He was born on November 12, 1931 in Centre, Alabama. He was the son of the late Joe McGatha and Nellie Arp McGatha.

Mr. McGatha is survived by his loving wife, Clara Mae Shell McGatha; daughters, Clarice Welchel, Faye Ledford (Jackie), Denice Warren, Cindy Brown McGatha, Gail Gable (Mike) and Lisa McGatha; sons, Oliver Dale McGatha and Stevie McGatha (Debbie); sisters, Perile Mae and Willie Mae; 27 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. McGatha is preceded in death by his parents; son, Winford Joe McGatha; grandson, Richard Joel Beck; son-in-law, Billy Wayne Welchel; sisters, Nellie Mae and Annie Mae and brothers, Ollie McGatha, Joe McGatha, Mack McGatha, Bud McGatha and Jay McGatha.

The funeral arrangements for Mr. McGatha will be conducted on Saturday, November 22, 2014 at eleven o'clock in the morning at the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. John Redding and Rev. Dorsey Warren officiating. Interment will follow in the Valley View Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family of Mr. McGatha will receive family and friends on Friday, November 21, 2014 from six o'clock in the evening until nine o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers; Chunky Beck, Phillip Beck, Steven McGatha, Chris McGatha, Barry Brown, Josh Brown and David Green. Honorary pallbearers will be Shane Ledford, Keith Watson and JT George.
