Mrs. Odessa May Knight, age 82, of Cedartown passed away Saturday, June 12, 2010. She was born in Cedartown on October, 26, 1927.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Clyde May Sr. & Mattie Rovine Stevens May; two husbands, Ernest Clifford "Billy" Carroll, Jr. and Jewel Emanuel Knight; daughter, Odessa Diane Purcell; sister, Betty Jo May; and brother, Billy May.

She was employed by Goodyear for forty years and will be remembered as the first female supervisor within the company.

Mrs. Odessa Knight is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Trudy & Hugh Boyd, Jr.; son, Gary Carroll; five grandchildren, Erin (Stephen) Casey, Courtney Boyd, Mr. & Mrs. Stacey Purcell, Mrs. Kelley Sharpe, Mr. & Mrs. Jason Marrs; five great grandchildren; sister, Helen Hill; and brothers, Clyde May Jr., Jimmy May, Buford (Doty) May.

The funeral service for Mrs. Odessa May Knight will be conducted on Sunday, June 13, 2010, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Dr. Richard Bray officiating. Interment will follow in the family lot at Greenwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral service on Sunday, June 13th, from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Pallbearers are Mike May, Greg May, Scott May, Joey May, Bob Coile, Loring Kirk, and Jimmy Cox, Jr. Honorary Pallbearers are Jimmy May and Buford May.

The Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home is handling the arrangements for Mrs. Odessa May Knight.
