Ms. Nellie Kate Shaw Benefield, age 96 of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2016. She was born on April 8, 1920 in Riverdale, Georgia. She was the daughter of the late John W. and Cassie Mae Sealark Shaw.

Ms. Benefield is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Butch and Dottie Benefield and one granddaughter, Lacey Benefield.

Ms. Benefield is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond R. Benefield; sisters, Willie M. Shaw, Virginia Carol, Erin Shaw and Caren Barber and brothers, Ralph Shaw, Wesley Shaw, Boyce Shaw, Joel Shaw and Pierce Shaw.

A graveside service for Ms. Nellie Kate Shaw Benefield will be conducted on Thursday, October 13, 2016 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Northview Cemetery with Olin L. Gammage officiating.

The family has requested that flowers are to be omitted and donations can be made to Second Baptist Church, 152 Evergreen Lane, Cedartown, GA 30125.
