Ms. Nellie Sue Howell Mason, age 82 of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Sunday, January 7, 2024. She was born on June 11, 1941 in Borden Springs, Alabama. She was the daughter of the late Harold Howell and Para Pruitt Howell.
Ms. Mason is a graduate of CHS, class of 1959. Sue was an avid gardner, with emphasis on flowers of all kinds. She enjoyed reading, building puzzles, working on her word search and puzzle books and spending much time with all of her family. She was always smiling, had a contagious laugh, and had a caring, loving heart. The family would like to thank the staffs of the Cedar Valley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, The Cottages at Rockmart, and Traditions Health Hospice for the loving and attentive care they provided.
Ms. Mason is survived by her sons, David Mason (Heather), Greg Mason and Jeff Mason (Kim); grandchildren, Brent Mason, Dylan Mason (Brittany), Jolie Blackmon (Casey), Cade McElwee (Trevor), Seth Mason, Jacob Mason, and Zachary Mason; sisters, Mary Jo Walker and Sarah Sparks; brother, Bill Howell; and great-grandchildren, Brantly Mason, Grant Mason, Maddox Mason, Frankie Blackmon, Addi Mason, Aubri Mason, Brayden Mason, Caiston McElwee, Rigleigh McElwee, Easton Mason, Sawyer Mason, and Briggs Mason.
The funeral service for Ms. Nellie Sue Howell Mason will be held on Thursday, January 11, 2024 at eleven o'clock in the morning from the chapel of Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery.
The family of Ms. Mason will receive family and friends on Wednesday, January 10, 2024 from five o'clock in the afternoon at until seven o'clock in the evening at Gammage Funeral Home.
The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Dylan Mason, Seth Mason, Jaxon Sparks, Brent Mason, Ryan Casey, and Dan Sparks. Honorary pallbearers will be Mark Sparks, John Sparks, Channing Sheridan, Jacob Mason, Zachary Mason, and Jackson Venable.
