Mrs. Nell Virginia Rhodes, age 87, of Cedartown passed away Friday, July 24, 2009. She was born January 26, 1922 in Crawfordville, GA, the daughter of the late Nell and Tom Beazley. She and her late husband, Glen Thomas Rhodes, moved to Cedartown in 1958.

Mrs. Rhodes is survived by two sons, Wendell Rhodes and wife, Cathy of Rome, GA and Tommy Rhodes and wife, Kim of Canton, GA; daughter-in-law, Sue Rhodes of Cedartown, GA; Grandchildren, Abby and Thomas Rhodes of Canton, GA, Corey Rhodes and wife, Ginger and Amy Boyd and husband, John of Silver Creek, GA, Freda Rhodes, and Robyn Thompson and husband James, of Cedartown. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren and niece, Karen McCall, and a host of other nieces and nephews

Mrs. Rhodes is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Glen on July 26, 1982; son, Glen, Jr., on October 1, 2003; brother, Herschel Beazley on November 28th, 1998; and half-brother, Harold Holden Kendrick.

The memorial service for Mrs. Rhodes will be conducted on Saturday, July 25, 2009, at 8:00 p.m. in the Chapel of the Olin L. Gammage and Sons Funeral Home with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.

The visitation for family and friends will be held prior to the memorial service on Saturday, July 25, 2009 from 7:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The family requests that flowers be omitted, however, memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church, 101 N. College St, Cedartown, GA 30125.
