Mr. Nathan Radford Camp, age 54, of Cumming, Georgia, formerly of Cedartown, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2020.  He was born on June 5, 1965, in Rockmart, Georgia.  He was the son of Mrs. Barbara Carroll Camp and the late Jimmy Odell Camp.

President and Founder of Camp Controls and Consulting, Inc., Nathan Camp had more than 20 years of experience with industrial controls. Prior to starting the company, he worked for Emerson Process Management's Atlanta Engineering Center (formerly Orion CEM, Inc.) for more than 11 years, where he had an opportunity to work on a large number of projects over multiple customer bases and system platforms. He developed strong skills with the DeltaV system and inter system communications. He traveled extensively during his career.

Prior to his experience at Emerson, Nathan worked for a large carpet manufacturer as both an engineer at a fiber extrusion facility and at the corporate level, supporting a large number of plants. He presented numerous short courses and workshops at the Emerson Global Users Exchange (formerly the Fisher-Rosemount Users Group) covering a wide range of topics.

A graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology, Nathan earned the Bachelor of Electrical Engineering degree. He played tuba in the Georgia Tech Band, was a member of the Kappa Kappa Psi Band Fraternity, and was a past-president of the Band Alumni Association. He was a member of the Leadership Circle of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association and a donor to Georgia Tech Athletic Association's Alexander-Tharpe Fund. Nathan was a longtime season ticket holder for Georgia Tech Football. Through his estate, he will establish an endowed scholarship to benefit electrical or computer engineering students from Northwest Georgia. He was a member of Georgia Tech's Founders' Council, the honorary society of alumni who have made estate gifts benefitting Georgia Tech.

He was a 1983 graduate of Cedartown High School. Nathan's hobbies included woodworking, cooking, exploring different cuisines, and building robots. He had a lifelong interest in classic science fiction. He was beloved by his family and friends and had a deep abiding faith in Jesus that sustained him.

Mr. Nathan Camp is survived by his mother; sisters, Beth Camp Dorsey and Dawn Camp Tolbert, (Larry); and nephew Adam Dorsey.

Mr. Nathan Camp is preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Odell Camp; grandparents, Arthur N. and Allie Brown Camp and Radford H. and Agnes Rutledge Carroll.

The funeral service for Mr. Nathan Camp will be held on Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. in the morning, in the Sanctuary of First Baptist Church, with

Dr. Chris Moses officiating.  Mr. Camp will lie in state from 10:00 a.m. until the funeral hour.  Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

The family of Mr. Camp will receive family and friends on February 10, 2020, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Gammage Funeral Home.

Honorary Pallbearers will be The Solid Rock Sunday School Class.
