Mrs. Myrtle L. "Big Mama" Chandler, age 75, of Cedartown passed away Monday, September 3, 2012. She was born July 9, 1937 in Haralson County, GA, the daughter of the late Clarence Jackson and Dovie Norris Jackson.
Mrs. Chandler is survived by husband, Hayward G. Chandler; daughter, Barbara Jean Owens (Kirk); sons, Rodney Chandler (Terri), Roland Chandler, Edward Guy Chandler; eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren; two God-grandchildren; two sisters, Margie Redding and Barbara Smith; and two brothers, Roland Jackson and Gary Jackson.
She is preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Kathlyn Wood, Marilyn Smith, three brothers, J.B. Jackson, Lanorris (Hoot) Jackson, Ed Jackson; and a grandson, Stefan Nation, Jr.
The funeral service for Mrs. Myrtle Chandler will be conducted on Thursday, September 6, at 2:00 p.m. at Youngs Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Barry McCullough and Rev. Blake Dodd officiating. Interment will be in Northview Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, September 5th from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers are K. J. Owens, Carl Redding, Brandy Silvers, Daryl Little, Sr., Eddy Greenway, Alan Hosmer, Scotty Chandler, Grant Morgan, Micah Glover, Jeremy Glover.
