Obituary

Mrs. Mozelle Edna Williamon Carr, of Cave Spring, passed away on Sunday, November 9, 2014, at the home of her son, Jerry Carr.

Mrs. Carr was born in Floyd County, Georgia on July 22, 1929, daughter of the late Walter Davis Williamon and the late Julia Ann Ledbetter Williamon.

She was married to Charles Franklin Carr on May 22, 1948, who preceded her in death on February 4, 2000. She was also preceded in death by a son, Timothy Farrell Carr, on August 13, 1977 and by five brothers, Paul Williamon, Sheldon Williamon, Winston Williamon, J.W. Williamon, Marshall Williamon and two sisters, Inez Baker and Gladys Brown.

She was a member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church. Mrs. Carr was an avid gardener who was known to have a "green thumb". She loved having beautiful roses and flowers around her home. Strangers passing by her home would often stop and comment on her flowers. She loved sitting on her porch watching "her" humming birds, as she called them. They became so fond of her they would light on her shoulder. She would often sit outside on her front porch to watch the big trucks go by with all their pretty lights. She said it reminded her of our dad who had been a truck driver.

Survivors include two sons, Larry Carr, and his wife, Sheila of Rome, and Jerry Carr, and his wife, Gwen of Cave Spring; a daughter, Charlotte Carr of Cedartown; four grandsons, Neal Carr of Rome, Adam Carr of Rome, Joshua Carr of Cave Spring and Cody Carr of Cave Spring; one great grandson, Hayden Carr, as well as several nieces and nephews.
