Ms. Mozelle Welchel Short, age 96 of Cedartown, passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. She was born on June 3, 1918 in Cherokee County, Georgia; she was the daughter of the late W.L. Welchel and Naomi Hill Welchel.

Ms. Short is survived by several grandchildren; great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Ms. Short is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Hershel Short; sons, William Floyd Short and Roy Eugene Short; daughters, Betty Wheeler and Virgina Gormly; sisters, Delia Cronan, Edith Freeman and Annie Hopkins and brothers, Grady Welchel and John R. Welchel.

The funeral arrangements for Ms. Short will be conducted on Thursday, April 16, 2015 at two o'clock in the afternoon in the chapel of the Gammage Funeral Home with Rev. Wormy Wiseman officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family of Ms. Short will receive family and friends on Thursday, April 16, 2015 from twelve o'clock (noon) until the funeral hour at the Gammage Funeral Home.

The following gentlemen will serve as pallbearers: Gene Short, Willie Short, Brandon Short, Tyler Deaton, Brian Wheeler, Scott Wheeler and Wesley Williams.
