Mr. Morris David Garrett, age 83, of Cedartown, passed away on Tuesday, May 7, 2013. He was born on October 12, 1929 in Polk County. He was the son of the late Albert Columbus Garrett and Katie Louise Smith Garrett.
Mr. Garrett was a United States Navy Veteran serving for 4 years.
Mr. Garrett is survived by his wife of 66 years, Nivie East Garrett; daughters and sons-in-law, Elaine and Jimmy Teal and Vickie and John Belluardo; sisters, Lucy Garrett, Lela Garrett and Ella Collins; grandchildren, David Teal, Clayton Teal and Katie Belluardo; great-grandson, Willie Polston and great-great-grandchildren, Hunter Polston and Natalie Polston.
Mr. Garrett is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Annie Mae Garrett; brothers, Oliver Garrett, Albert Garrett, Matt Garrett and Joseph Garrett and grandson, Joshua Belluardo.
The funeral arrangements for Mr. Garrett will be conducted on Friday, May 10, 2013 at eleven o'clock in the morning in the Gammage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Owen "Bud" Davis, Jr. officiating.
Interment will follow in the Polk Memory Gardens Cemetery will Full Military Rites by the American Legion Brewster-Cleveland Post 86 Honor Guard.
The family of Mr. Garrett will receive family and friends on Thursday, May 9, 2013 from six o'clock in the evening until eight o'clock in the evening at the Gammage Funeral Home.
The following will serve as pallbearers; David Teal, Katie Belluardo, David Collins, Clayton Teal, Buddy Robinson and Barry East. Honorary pallbearers will be DeWayne Whicker, Larry Garrett, Winston Cook, Donald Nichols and Tony Duke.
